Our Mission:
To end the deficit spending that saps our economy and endangers the
future of America’s young people.
Our Organization:
Concerned Youth of America is a nonpartisan group dedicated to
promoting fiscal responsibility at the local, state and federal levels.
Created
by and for America’s young people, the generation that will inherit today’s misguided
spending, CYA will raise awareness amongst the youth who would otherwise be disaffected
and disconnected with our nation’s public policy. CYA will work with lawmakers,
and business and civic leaders to articulate our concerns and our proposals for
change.
Our youthfulness and vigor will bring a new voice to rise above the din
of partisan bickering. We are not interested in demagoguery or a political agenda,
but rather solutions to a problem that uniquely affects us, the spiraling debt.
With a bill for more than eight trillion dollars looming over our generation, the
time for students to act is now.
CYA would like to make clear that we do not advocate
a position of either large or small government. We are neither conservative nor
liberal. Our leadership and our membership runs the gamut of political persuasions.
CYA’s position is simple: for the sake of future generations, the generation presently
with power should maintain fiscal responsibility at all times, spending only what
the government collects in revenues, and only deficit spending during recessions
and emergencies. We feel that this is a fair position to take, not only for our
nation’s financial health, but for the sake of American youth.
Our Status:
In 2007 CYA incorporated in the State of Colorado, and in the spring of 2009 the IRS granted CYA status as a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. This means that all donations are tax deductible.
